I read this along with the author's other book, 'You've Been Fooled by Your Brain.' Both are helpful. You come to see the ego and learn that there is no need to identify with thoughts and emotions because they are not you.
It was a bit difficult, but it was easy to understand because it explained the concept of the mind scientifically.
It is the influence of the interpreter, where the ego, originating from thought, comes to recognize patterns. Since thought cannot escape the interpreter, it is merely thinking about thought. Good.
I feel that this is exceptionally outstanding among books on understanding the mind. It helps make it easier to understand how the ego uses sophisticated mechanisms to disguise itself as the true self. Considering that the translator is an orthopedic surgeon, I think he has done a truly remarkable job.
