Choi Jong-cheol: The art of disaster

The five articles in this book have been written in what we call the Post-Expic Era, and have been a way of re-imagulation and transformation of the painful lessons of the age disaster, how much we can remember the time-long commitment to change, how it's still going to be effective today, and what the untold untapped images of suffering and salvation are yet to be told, and how art can reproduce the story of pain and salvation. The Sewho was a physical disaster that killed hundreds of people, and it was a very special visual phenomenon, which was extended by images as the appearance of shock and suffering. But despite this visual speciality of the Time disaster, the replaying of the age scale, or imageizing of it, remains a source of controversy. We know that the images of the past are necessary conditions for the promise that we will never forget, while also concerned about the social turmoil and corruption that these images will cause. After the past issue, writing poetry about it, singing and creating plays and the insinuation of the impossible to paint and the self-inflict of it has become a kind of ethical ritual for all artists of the age of Time. The art of disaster, which is the work of the book, reviews the art crisis of silence and restraint after the disaster of the year, re-expresses the interdependence and responsibility of the self-typing that is so apparent from the crisis, and then tries to determine how art can bring the disaster to light beyond the investigation of the crisis of ‘impressibility.'.
