Description

*The Life of Jesus* is the first research book to trace the life of Jesus through meticulous and accurate historical verification using mythology, religious studies, history, and ancient Jewish literature by Dr. Cho Chul-soo, a world-renowned scholar of ancient Near Eastern mythology and the only Sumerian language specialist in Korea. By translating the original Hebrew text from around the turn of the millennium, 2,000 years ago, the book sheds new light on Jesus' life and explores it anew from a humanities perspective. Divided into 14 chapters, the text closely reveals Jesus' life from his birth to his death, resurrection, and ascension, as well as his role in the early church following his ascension.

A book I came across while delving into the historical Jesus as depicted in the Synoptic Gospels. It is true that the author's unique background influenced my purchase.

In the preface, the author briefly explains why it is titled "A Biography of Jesus." A biography is defined as a biography that also includes criticism. Consequently, I read the first half thoroughly, but from that point on, I skimmed over detailed quotations and focused primarily on the interpretations. The content unfolds in a

While many books in the world discuss the thoughts and practices of Jesus, it seems there is no other book that reveals His true nature as well as this one. If Jesus, who came as the Redeemer of humanity, can exist within the hearts of true human beings rather than within our prejudices and dogmatism, this book presents us with precisely such an image of Jesus. Breaking free from a Jesus that has been damaged and contaminated by many human things, we must deeply engrave in our hearts the image

I did not start reading *The Life of Jesus* because I am a believer, nor for the purpose of studying the Bible. I picked up this book primarily because of the author's impressive background. The author, Dr. Cho Cheol-su, is someone who not only studied biblical studies, ancient Semitic languages, Egyptology, and Assyria in Jerusalem, but also earned a doctorate in Sumerian grammar. Furthermore, he reportedly obtained a doctorate in Assyria—the only one in Korea and the eleventh in the world to

When speaking of Jesus, one could attach various modifiers such as Messiah, reformer, revolutionary, and savior. Titled *The Life of Jesus*, this book sheds new light on the life of Jesus, capturing his human existence as a living, breathing Jesus. Knowing that the author spent a long time studying various historical documents to write this massive volume, I had high expectations for it. Indeed, I believe it has certainly filled my mind with knowledge, as I was previously almost completely
