Byun Mi-hye: Journal of Korean Traditional Music Education

The normalization and revitalization of Korean traditional music education require multifaceted measures, not only within the framework of national education policies but also in conjunction with national cultural policies. The articles published in the *Essays on Korean Traditional Music Education* were written to address the problems of Korean traditional music education, and the author argues that the state of Korean traditional music education is determined by music instruction in elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as in teacher training colleges. The author believes that amidst a flood of information, knowledge, and pluralistic values, the power that defines one's true self is cultivated within our culture. Furthermore, the author asserts that because Korean traditional music is the crystallization of the nourishment for our national culture and is culture itself, the future of Korean traditional music education is directly linked to cultural flourishing.
