Saints must strive to resemble the image of Jesus. This can be considered the goal that believers must achieve. The state of resembling the image of Jesus is called spirituality. St. John of the Cross, a medieval monk, teaches future generations how saints should live their lives. As the Superior of the Carmelite Theological College, St. John lectured, and his example and authority inspired many new vocations. As a spiritual leader of the Carmelites and a master of preaching, John was faithful
