A book that teaches Latin through 30 sentences. I look forward to the publication of Bae Tae-jin’s Latin grammar book soon as well.

As mentioned in the book, this feels like an application volume or workbook for the author’s first book. If the first book built a strong foundation in grammar, this one applies and reviews that grammar through 30 Latin sentences presented as essays. If the first book felt too much like formal studying, this one may make Latin easier to approach through sentences. I think learning a language means learning its culture as well as a foreign tongue. In that sense, studying Latin through essay

Though Latin is unfamiliar, this book makes it approachable by pairing 30 carefully chosen classical sentences with familiar essay-style writing. The author, a practicing Latin teacher, pastor, and father of three, introduces Latin kindly, step by step, and systematically. I found it even more useful to combine it with the author’s YouTube lessons and Latin Grammar You Can Study on Your Own by Teacher Bae Tae-jin. Each chapter teaches grammar, with easy memorization tips and spaces for writing things out to help remember them. However, I think it would be difficult to understand everything from this book alone. It recommends referring to the author’s earlier book, Latin Grammar You Can Study on Your Own. This book seems ideal for opening the door and making Latin feel approachable. Written by a father of three, it explains things warmly and clearly, as if teaching his own children.
