I already own a few books by Father Anselm Grün. Not only the content, but even the titles give off a warm feeling... That is probably why I chose this book without hesitation this month. I was particularly drawn to the subtitle, "Jesus' Inner Healing Methods for Wounded Souls." (However, it seems to be a book written for spiritual counselors~ ^^) This book is broadly divided into three parts. I think we can define the keywords as Jesus' "Parables," "Words," and "Healing." First, the section on
The new perspective on 'parables' was fascinating. Recommended for believers who wish to find healing and strength through their faith life and Bible verses! 'We do not need to ask for forgiveness of our sins by struggling hard or begging for recognition and love. Because God forgives our sins in His mercy, we can treat ourselves and others mercifully in His mercy.' 'He wants me to look at life differently and to be grateful that my life has meaning. I mature as I go through these conflicts.'
Recently, there has been an increase in the number of people acknowledging their emotional pain and seeking healing. This change has created an environment where people can offer words of encouragement cautiously, without being alarmed by one another's suffering. (It seems there are many such people around me, as I was born in the 90s.) However, many of them are people of faith. Is it difficult for believers to receive complete comfort within the Lord? This is the book "The Doctor of My Heart,"
We live in a busy modern world. We eat in a hurry, sometimes even while walking or on the subway, or we often fail to even skip a meal altogether. Eating too hastily leads to indigestion, and eating too quickly can cause reflux; moreover, we end up unable to taste the food we have chewed and swallowed in a rush. God's Word is the same. If we try to understand it hastily, or if we view it merely out of obligation or formality without looking at it with a sincere heart, we cannot grasp the true
I consider Father Anselm Grün's book to be by far the best among Catholic books. It is excellent because the content is written in an easy-to-understand style and allows you to reflect on your life of faith.
Anselm Grün: My Mind's Doctor
As medical technology advances day by day, many diseases that were incurable in the past are gradually being cured. However, while physical ailments are slowly being conquered, the number of people suffering from mental illness is actually increasing. It is even said that everyone suffers from at least one mental ailment. This is no exception for people of faith. Catholic Publishing House has newly revised and published *The Doctor of My Heart* by Father Anselm Grün, which offers an integrated view of the various mental illnesses afflicting modern people from the perspective of spiritual psychology. This book presents Jesus's poignant parables from the Bible, combined with the author's unique interpretations and counseling experiences. Through this, it teaches us how to break free from fixed ideas and heal our tangled hearts. Furthermore, it examines situations in the Bible where Jesus healed and explores methods to heal the wounds of our hearts.
