Annika Aldamui Denise: Story flowers blooming in the library

Pura Velfre, who was raised by her grandmother to tell her old story, became the first Puerto Ricon librarian in the New York Public Library. But when you know that there's no book for immigrants, you tell stories you have in mind from Puerto Rico, you show puppet plays, you open them up. The seeds of story that Pura sowed in her libraries, in her schools and so on are still spreading out into the world, budding and flowering.
