Alex Callinicos: Postmodernism: A Critique of Marxism

The criticism of Marxism is the greatest feature of its historical review of these theories, as well as the single major claims of post-modemism, using the tools of philosophy and social theory. So post-moniism is seen as a reflection of the system that the generation of the West has been so disillusioned with politics that it has given up the revolution and become a professional executive's 'new middle class'. So what's the great idea of post-monimism? The claim is made that the best way to understand is not so much culturally but rather as a sign of the political frustration and social rise of the 1968 generation.
